Why Spaziottagoni Exists

Spaziottagoni is a small independent publication about Rome, written for people who want to understand the city rather than simply tick off its landmarks. It is meant for visitors planning a trip, residents who like to rediscover their own streets, and anyone who reads about Rome from a distance and wants a clear, grounded guide.

Three subjects, one city

Every article belongs to one of three areas. They overlap constantly in Rome, where a gallery can occupy a Baroque palace, a trattoria can sit on top of Roman foundations and a neighbourhood market can tell you as much about the past as a museum label.

  • Rome Art Exhibitions looks at current and recurring shows, permanent collections and smaller spaces, with attention to what is worth your time and how to plan a visit.
  • Rome Food & Lifestyle covers everyday eating, markets, cafés, seasonal habits and the rhythms of daily life in the city.
  • Rome History explains the layers of the city, from ancient sites to papal Rome and the modern capital, in plain language.

How the articles are written

The aim is useful, readable material you can act on. Historical claims are checked against museum and archaeological site information, published scholarship and official cultural institution pages. Practical details such as schedules, ticketing and access are checked against the organiser’s own announcements wherever possible. When something is uncertain, disputed or likely to change, the article says so.

Rome changes quickly. Exhibitions close, restaurants move and sites reorganise their visits, so pages are revisited and revised when something no longer matches reality.

Who it is for

Readers range from first-time visitors to people who have lived in Rome for years and want a fresh angle. Nothing here assumes a large budget, a long stay or any prior knowledge of Italian art or history.
